Review
This is official description
Photomatix helps you to create stunning photographs of high contrast scenes.
With Photomatix you have no need to acquire expensive lighting equipment -and carry it- when you shoot high contrast scenes. Just enable the Auto Exposure Bracketing feature of your camera, and let Photomatix merge your photos into an image with extended dynamic range.
Photomatix is designed for productivity -- automatic blending, unlimited stacking, easy comparison of results and batch processing save hours of masking and layers work in image editing programs.
The following review written by one of the Software Informer contributors applies to version 3.0
Photomatix 3.0 is a HDR software. HDR stands for High Dynamic Range, and in the last years has become very popular because of its beauty and creative possibilities. To create HDR images we need the same image with different exposure values, this can be reached by saving the images as raw files. Getting raw files is not always easy as only some of the best bridge cameras and the reflex (SLR) cameras allow the user to do this. If we can't get raw files we can use bracketing to get the camera taking photographs with different values in a short period of time which reduces the possibility of moving the camera.
Once we have different exposure files of the same image we can get them into Photomatix to mix them. Photomatix is able to mix these files and get amazing images thanks to tone mapping and many other parameters available to change.
Creating good HDR images is really complicated and requires a lot of work. Using Photomatix user gets to the desired images faster and easier than using Photoshop, which was the former way of getting HDR images.
This version of Photomatix 3 is a full featured trial version that will get a watermark in the photographs you make until you purchase its license. |
